Religions and Conspiracy Theories as the Authoritarian “Other” of Democracy?

This article theorises and conceptualises the ambivalent role of religions conspiracy theories in modern democracies. Based on a concise comparison both phenomena, it elaborates similar risks functions for political community without neglecting fact that, under secular conditions, spread narratives might outweigh those religious messages long run.
